CCM X30 Senior Ice Hockey Neck Guard

CCM X30 Senior Ice Hockey Neck Guard is for the adult player who spent years filing neck guards under kids' stuff – right up until the first goalmouth pile-up, when skates were flying around at eye level. It's a black guard with a bib, so the coverage doesn't stop at the throat but carries on over the top of the chest, the exact patch a jersey collar leaves exposed when you go down in a scramble.

The look is low-key: black, a white CCM logo and the X30 print, nothing that shouts from under your jersey. Pull it on before your shoulder pads so the bib sits flat underneath them rather than bunching up on top.

For the Thursday-night league crowd, who play after work and still intend to turn up at the office on Friday morning in one piece, this is the simplest bit of peace of mind in the whole bag.
