Blue Sports Mens 3 in 1 Junior Jock Combo

Blue Sports Mens 3 in 1 Junior Jock Combo is three pieces of kit rolled into one: a supporter, a cup and a garter belt. A black supporter with cup is joined by four garter straps ending in metal clips, which is how players hold up hockey socks that have no velcro tabs. The cup is a performance cup designed for comfort, and the fasteners and hooks are robust, which helps with kids who are not exactly gentle with their gear.

Here is how it works for anyone new to it. Junior pulls on the supporter with the cup in place, slides the shin guards on, then pulls the socks up over them. Each strap clips to the top of a sock, two at the front and two at the back, and the sock stays up through every stride and stop. Many club teams still hand out traditional game socks, so this setup is more common than you might expect.

Before a game, take ten seconds to check that all four clips are closed properly. One loose clip is the reason a sock ends up bunched around a skate halfway through the second period.
