Bauer Senior Garter Belt

Bauer Senior Garter Belt is for the player who has taped socks the same way for twenty years and is finally ready to stop. Bauer’s standard garter belt holds socks up securely without the sticky residue, the torn leg hair or the pile of used tape left on the dressing-room floor.

This version is a black belt whose straps end in rings or loops rather than clips. It is one size fits most, for waists of roughly 76–102 cm (30–40"). It sits around the waist under the hockey pants, out of sight, and does its work without demanding a second thought once the puck drops.

The switch takes a game or two to get used to. Plenty of players still like a single strip of tape below the knee to keep the shin guard snug, but the garter takes care of the top of the sock, which is exactly where tape tends to give up by the third period. Rinse it along with your base layer after the game and let it dry flat.
