Blade tape

Cloth tape protects the blade and helps the puck stick to it when you receive a pass. Howies cloth tape comes in 25 mm rolls of 22.9 m and 45.7 m, and in a 38 mm roll of 13.7 m. One 25 mm roll is enough for several blades. Howies 5-packs with black, white and clear rolls are good value for a team bag.

Shin pad tape

Clear poly tape holds socks and shin guards in place. Howies shin pad tape comes in 25 mm and 38 mm widths, both 27.4 m long. It does not stick to the hockey sock as hard as cloth tape, so it is easier to take off after the game.

Grip for the shaft

Grip tape such as CCM Hockey Grip or Lizard Skins DSP gives the top hand a firm hold. Tacki-Mac grips are a sleeve you pull over the shaft, so you do not have to tape the top at all. Blue Sports Powerflex grip is 38 mm wide and 4.57 m long.

Extras

Howies scissors cut through cloth tape cleanly, and a tape tin keeps the rolls together in the bag. Stick wax is under other stick accessories. See all stick accessories.
